Caligula: The Untold Story
CALIGULA: THE UNTOLD STORY aka Caligula II: The Untold Story, Caligula: The Untold Story (UK), Emperor Caligula (Italy), Emperor Caligula: The Garden of Taboo (USA: video title), L’imperatore Caligula (Italy: alternative title), The Emperor Caligula: The Untold Story (USA) was directed by Joe D’Amato and stars Laura Gemser, David Cain aka David Brandon and Gabriele Tinti. It is the infamous Joe D’Amato (credited as David Hills) spin on the almost equally infamous Caligula movie.
Caligula is the roman emperor that puts most sadistic evil overlords to shame. The movie deals with the “untold story” of Caligula’s life and features various extremely graphic scenes, including but not limited to: impalement, tongue cutoff, explicit bestiality with a horse and many, many scenes of hardcore pornography that I cannot show here for obvious reasons. It also has some hardcore scenes with little people, naked fondling while being sprayed with blood from nearby fighting gladiators and some pretty brutal stabbings and slayings. Together with Emanuelle in America and Emanuelle Around the World, this one ranks extremely high on the nasty scale, because aside from zombies and cannibals this movie pretty much has it all.
I acquired an uncut german special collectors edition of this movie some time ago so a full review is on the way.
